GENERAL PROVISIONS
Term and Place of the Competition

8th International Chopin Piano Competition will take place from August 9th - 14th 2010 in Mariánské Lázně (Czech Republic).

Organizer of the Competition

The competition is organized by the Czech Chopin Society and Town of Mariánské Lázně.

Age limit of the competition

The competition is intended for pianists of all nationalities till age 28, born after August 9th 1981.

Evaluation

Evaluation of the competition is fully public. The complete results, including the points given by each of the jury members, will be announced after each of rounds.

Application and Entry Fee

The enclosed application form should be completed and sent no later than May 30th, 2010 to the following address:

The following will be attached to the application:
a) the receipt of the entry fee payment
b) two photographs 9 x 13 cm
c) a short biography

The organizer will confirm the acceptance of applications by June 30th 2010.

The entry fee of 2000 CZK for participants from the Czech Republic and 100 EUR for foreigners has to be paid to the following account Nr. CZ1601000000008863420277 in KB Mariánské Lázně, SWIFT address KOMBCZPPXXX. The passport or ID number of the participant should be filled in as the variable symbol (VS) at the payment of the entry fee.

Accommodation and travel costs

Accomodation will be arranged and covered by the Organizer for the period of the contestant’s active participation in the competition. Travel expenses are at the responsibility of the participant.

It is possible for the jury not to award some of the prizes. In case of awarding several equal prizes in one category the jury has the right to collect the financial amount set for the category and divide it in a way that will respect awarded prizes. The first prize is undividable. The decision of the jury is final.
